Description Position:
California State University, Fullerton, seeks a tenure-track faculty in Entertainment, Tourism, or Hospitality Management for Fall 2010. Responsibilities include quality teaching undergraduate/graduate classes in these fields; performance in research, scholarly and creative activities which result in publication of high-quality refereed journal articles; departmental and University service, and student advisement.
The Mihaylo College of Business & Economics at Cal State Fullerton offers a low teaching load for new faculty, research grants, summer support, and a supportive, flexible, team-based environment, as well as a state-of-the art facility, year-round great climate, and a vibrant urban environment.
Qualifications:
* A Ph.D. in Hospitality or Tourism from a Business College is preferred but a Ph.D. in a business or business-related field (completed by August 1, 2010) from an accredited institution (AACSB preferred) is acceptable. A candidate with a non-business degree must possess an MBA or a significant number of business courses.
* Experience as an effective teacher is preferred.
* Evidence of the capability to do high level research.
* Work/consulting experience within the entertainment, tourism, or hospitality industries.
* The ability to interact effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students and colleagues.
A secondary teaching area in another management field like organizational behavior, international management, operations, or strategic management is highly desirable.
Rank & Salary:
Rank is at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Salary is commensurate with rank, qualifications and experience.
