Description

Great Pyrenees - Extra Large - Young - Female - Dog - LilyAnne
Description
* { font:inherit; } LilyAnne has been able to leave the boarding kennel and come to a foster home where she is part of a large family which includes several dogs of all sizes, cats, 2 Cockatiels as well as 4 human family members. Very timid at first, after just a week and a half she is asserting her independence more and more. Lily is quite the lady and she becomes indignant when other dogs are rude and uncouth. She especially resents others stumbling over her as she sleeps at night. She loves a snuggly bed, sitting beside her favorite people as she leans her head on a knee.  Snacks and mealtimes are definitely high spots in her day, but she takes her time and enjoys the experience. If the others are done and drooling, that is their problem. She is the Pyr for you if you want a more sedate, gentle Pyr. She is only about a year old, but has a wisdom beyond most dogs her age and when she gives you her love, it is with her whole heart. I have seldom seen such a devoted dog, but that doesn't mean that she will accede to your every whim. She is after all, a Pyr, not a Border Collie and she does use that famous Pyr bark on occasion, although not indiscriminately.  You definitely need to stay with her when you are outside, especially at first, because she can easily scale a 6 foot chain link fence if startled or frightened. Once she has bonded to you, though, she doesn't like to leave your side.If you are looking for a dog to be a devoted companion and friend, someone with which you can enjoy pleasurable strolls or quiet times at home, LilyAnne would love to be your soulmate.NGPR Pooch Profile Name: LilyAnne in AL Age: Young Color: White Dew Claws: double Estimated Adult Weight: about 80 lbs Origin: AL Current Location: NGPR Approved Foster in AlabamaMedical: Spayed, dewormed, negative for heartworm, up-to-date on vaccinations and currently on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. We save Pyrs and Pyr mixes across the country and place them in approved foster homes to learn how they will interact with your family. Every dog who is fostered or adopted makes room for another Pyr coming out of a kill shelter. NGPR dogs are fostered for a minimum of two weeks or more, spayed or neutered and fully vetted before placement. NGPR will take back any dog who does not succeed in its new home. Many NGPR volunteers are members of the AKC breed club, adhere to their rescue guidelines for purebred Pyrs and apply these standards to the adoption of Pyr mixes as well. Visit www.nationalpyr.org to learn more about us, our mission and our breed. More Information: Questions? The fastest way to learn more about a dog is to fill out the application form below.
