This is a classic Nils Landberg designed vase by the Swedish Orrefors glassworks, c.1955. It is of the "Dusk Series" and is grayish in color, measuring approx. 7" in height and approx. 3" in width at its' widest point. It is actually of a diamond shape which is the rarest form of the Dusk series and produced for only about 5 years. It is also known by its' thick walled design. A very beautiful piece. Nils became world renown for his designs in the '50s and had his works shown at many museums across the U.S. as part of an early landmark "Design in Scandinavia" exhibit. He was also honored in 1982 in the "Scandinavian Modern Design" exhibit held at the Cooper Hewitt Museum (part of the Smithsonian Institute) in New York City.
