Director of Claims - Medical Stop Loss

Do you have at least 10+ years Claims, with Stop-Loss and Re-Insurance, experience on behalf of Health insurance companies?

What you will be doing:


* Manages and handles daily functions of the stop-loss claims unit

* Oversee processing & investigation of claims for specific and aggregate coverages

* Approves all stop loss claims for reimbursement and files claims with reinsurer

* Work w/General Counsel ensuring complete, sound claim settlements, reviews, etc

* Interpret insurance guidelines regulatory reqs, agreements, that pertain to area

* Oversee processing from field offices

* Leadership resp. include interviewing, hiring, training team members, performance

* Report to Senior Management

What you will need:


* BS, BA or equivalent Industry experience.

* 10+ years of industry experience and Claims Mgt.

* Technical knowledge & proficiency in industry underwriting and rating practices.

* Possess a thorough knowledge of available competitor data and rating practices.

* Extensive knowledge of Stop-Loss & re-insurance, fully insured terminology.

* Excellent math and analytical skills.

* Good presentation and negotiating skills.

* Extensive experience with customer contacts.

* Working knowledge of computers and various software programs.

* Excellent communication and problem solving skills.

* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
